Centurion Mode

Centurion Mode is a format for selecting an Age of Darkness army that focuses on infantry and light support units, rather than tanks and other heavy vehicles. It was originally proposed and developed by the hosts of the Eye of Horus Podcast in 2016, with the objective of creating games that mimic the look and feel of earlier editions of Warhammer 40,000. In this era, games often played out at a more intimate scale. Squads would engage in sprawling combats with dueling characters, and even a single Dreadnought was an intimidating threat.
